Managing License

Understanding Ginesys ERP Licensing
Ginesys ERP offers a flexible and scalable licensing model tailored for retail businesses, emphasizing ease of use and adaptability. Its subscription approach allows businesses to manage costs predictably while benefiting from continuous updates and robust support for multi-channel operations.
For businesses already using Ginesys ERP, understanding its licensing structure is essential for efficient management and compliance. Whether the focus is on activation, renewal, or gaining clarity on the system’s licensing fundamentals, this guide provides a comprehensive overview.

How Ginesys Licensing Works

  1. Subscription Model
Ginesys ERP operates on a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, where businesses pay a recurring subscription fee. The pricing may vary based on the modules and features selected, such as POS management or financial tools, over and above the basic license which includes the Admin, Inventory, Procurement and Sales and Distribution modules.

  2. Named User Licenses
Licenses are issued as named user licenses, meaning each license is assigned to a specific user account. These accounts allow for up to two simultaneous sessions, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.

  3. License Management
With the release of version 12.10.0, Ginesys introduced streamlined license management features. Users can navigate to Admin Panel > Utilities > License > Manage License to perform various tasks, including:

    • Activating licenses

    • Renewing expiring licenses

    • Allocating licenses to Point of Sale (POS) systems

License Updates and Renewals

  1. Periodic Renewal: Licenses must be renewed periodically, a process that can be easily managed through the online tools provided in the Manage License section.

  2. Automatic Validations: The platform performs automatic license validation checks during updates or reinstallations to ensure compliance with licensing terms.

Steps to Activate a New License

To activate a new license in Ginesys ERP, users can follow these steps:

  1. Access the Admin Panel and navigate to Utilities > License > Manage License.

  2. For Ginesys Cloud customers, licenses are typically handled by the License team. For other users, a License Request File [1]may need to be generated and mailed to the License Team at license@gsl.in.

  3. Once the new license file is received, upload it via the Activate/Renew License [2] button.

  4. Verify the uploaded license details for accuracy.

  5. Restart the license services by selecting the Restart License Services [3] button to apply the changes.

  6. Confirm that the new license is active by reviewing the License Manager for any notifications or alerts.
