Ginesys has made several updates to enhance your report management experience. This article briefly overviews the new features and how to use them effectively.
Key Changes in the Report Module
New Report Module Interface
Ø The Report Module now opens in a separate tab when accessed, providing a more organized workspace.
Ø The previous Repository and Server tabs have been removed. They are replaced with three new tabs: Manage Reports, Manage Roles, and Report Inbox.
Detailed Overview of New Tabs
1. Manage Roles
Purpose: Allows Admin users to create and manage roles.
Access: Only Admin Role users can access this tab.
Functionality:
You can create new roles by providing a Role Name and selecting an Access Level (either "View" or "All").
Users with "View" access can view, run, and schedule reports.
Users with "All" access can edit and modify reports.
Roles can be assigned to users through Admin > Security > Users > Report Role.
2. Manage Reports
Purpose: Provides Admin users the ability to assign report access.
Access: Available only to Admin Role users.
Functionality:
This tab allows you to assign specific Report Folders or individual reports to user roles.
You can also set specific report-level access (edit or view) by right-clicking the report and choosing Manage Access Control.
3. Report Inbox
Purpose: A new feature to view completed scheduled reports.
Functionality:
Users can download reports or share report links with others directly from the Report Inbox.
This feature helps centralize report management within the module.
Additional Notes
Access Control: Users who do not have a Report Role assigned will not have access to the Report Module.
UI Enhancements: The Report Editor window has been updated for a better user experience, though the core functionality remains unchanged.
