Create Packet Against Advice in Zwing

To transfer inventory from one site to another, the user must create a packet by adding the required inventory. This packet can then be used for seamless inventory transfer between sites.

You can create a packet against an advice or as an ad hoc packet. Here, you will find the process to generate Packet against Advice. To generate an Ad Hoc Packet, click here.


Create Packet against Advice

To create Packet against advice, go to Inventory → Packet. Here, you can view all previously generated packets.

  1. To create a new packet, click on +New Packet.

  1. Select the store for which you want to create the packet.

  1. Select Creation Type as Against Advice, then choose the advice for which you wish to create the packet.

If you select the advice, the Destination Type will be automatically fetched based on the selected advice.

  1. Select the Source Stockpoint from where you wish to create the packet.

  2. Add a description, remark, and attachments if needed.

  1. Once you have added the header-level details of the packet, you can also add products to the packet. For more, click here.


Add Normal Products to Packet

  1. The products to be packed against the advice will be available in the Product Section with progress tracking.

  1. You can add products one by one by scanning the barcode or searching by product name.

  1. Once you have selected the product for packing, it will appear in the Packed Product List, where you can update the quantity. The quantity will automatically update as you scan the product barcode.

  2. You can import products directly using a CSV file, text file, or by pasting barcodes with a defined delimiter.

Add Batch Product to Packet

If your product is batch-tracked, you can also add the batch product to the packet.

  1. Scan the product barcode or search by product name. Once scanned or searched, a sidecart will appear where you can select the batches.

  1. Select the batch of the product, click on Add Selected, and update the quantity to be tranfer for the selected batch.

  1. Click on Update to add the selected batch to the packet. The selected product’s batch will then appear in the Packed Product List.

  1. If you have updated the product quantity as per the required quantity, the product will be fully packed, and a mark will appear against it in the packing process.


Add Serial Product to Packet

If your product is Serial-tracked, you can also add the serial product to the packet.

  1. Scan the product barcode or search by product name. Once scanned or searched, a sidecart will appear where you can select the serials.

  1. Select the serial of the product, click on Add Selected, and update the quantity to be tranfer for the selected serial.

  1. If you wish to add another serial number, click on +Add Serial, and you will be redirected to the Serial List again.

  2. Click on Update to add the selected batch to the packet. The selected product’s serial will then appear in the Packed Product List.

  1. If you have updated the product quantity as per the required quantity, the product will be fully packed, and a mark will appear against it in the packing process.


Save Packet as Draft

Once you have added the header details and products to the packet, click on Continue to proceed.

  1. Click on Continue to proceed with saving the packet.

  1. Once you click Continue, you will be redirected to the Preview page, where you can review the Packet, save it as a draft, or make changes before finalizing it.

  1. You can click on Save Withpout Seal (Draft), to save the packet as draft.

  1. Your packet will be saved as a draft, and its status will be marked as Draft.

  2. Click on the available options to discard, modify, or save the drafted Packet and complete the process.

Once a Packlet draft is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Ensure you review the draft carefully before deleting it, as this action is irreversible.


Seal Packet to Complete the Packet

Once you have reveived the packed details, you can save the packet and complete the process.

  1. On the Review Packet page, click Seal Packet to finalize and complete the packet process.

  1. Your Packet will be saved, and you will be redirected to the Packet Summary page, where you can review the final details.

  1. Your packet has been successfully generated and is now available for the goods transfer process.

  2. You can print the GRN by clicking on Print Packet to generate a copy.

Success! You have generated the packet successfully.


Void Packet

If there’s any issue or mistake in Packet creation, you can void the saved Packet.

  1. Go to the Packet Summary page, click on the top-right corner options, and select Void Packet.

  1. Click on Void Packet, enter the reason, add remarks, and provide the void code.

  1. Confirm the voiding of the Packet by clicking Confirm Void, and the packet will be voided automatically.

  2. The advice will remain in the Packet list with a Void status.


The packet creation process ensures accurate inventory tracking and seamless stock transfers. Verifying details before finalizing helps prevent discrepancies, ensuring transparency and efficiency in operations.
